Meet the Team:
Business Unit Leader
Jim Grogan joined the Jack Laurie Group in 2017 and has proven himself as a talented, experienced leader in commercial flooring. He began his career at JLG as a Project Manager, then the Director of Project Management and is now the Business Unit Leader for Jack Laurie Group in the Region.
As the Business Unit Leader, Jim works tirelessly to grow our footprint in NW Indiana. He leads JLG’s project management, estimating processes, systems and resources in the Merrillville-area. In the year he’s worked in the Region, he’s already seen significant growth in staff and market share.
Outside work, Jim loves spending time with his wife and two boxers. He enjoys golfing and camping.
Project Manager
Valparaiso native Danielle McKean brings years of flooring experience to our Jack Laurie Group NW Indiana team. Danielle is a proud graduate of Valparaiso High School and attended Purdue NW, where she studied business management and accounting.
As an account manager for Jack Laurie Group, Danielle takes care of estimating and ensures projects transition seamlessly and are ready for installation. She’s been with NW Indiana Jack Laurie Group for over a year.
Outside work, Danielle loves to hike the dunes, play disc golf with her fiance and make old furniture like new again. She’s a huge pet lover and loves spending time with her two dogs.
Operations Manager
As the Operations Manager for the Jack Laurie Group, Beck Bayless oversees field operations for the Region, ensuring projects run smoothly. Beck has proven expertise in the flooring industry, having worked in both residential and commercial flooring in NW Indiana since 1991.
Beck is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys playing poker, particularly Texas Holdem. He’s a huge sports fan & loves to play golf. When he’s not on the move he likes to watch crime scene investigation shows.
Project Manager
Project Manager, Tim McDermott is the newest addition to the Jack Laurie Group team. Tim recently moved to the Region after a hurricane destroyed his community in Fort Myers, Florida. Jack Laurie Group’s structure and company culture were top reasons he chose NW Indiana. In his 30 years of construction experience, he’s developed a wealth of knowledge in estimating and project management.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys riding his Harley and plays guitar and bass. He recently released a southern pop album called Bubba Grouch. He’s also spent time in a Tom Petty cover band, perhaps drawn to Indiana by his favorite Tom Petty song “Last Dance with Mary Jane”.
Field Superintendent
St. John native, Rob Bednarz brings 16 years of commercial floor sales & project management experience to our Northwest Indiana commercial flooring team. Rob is a proud graduate of Lake Central High School and loves overseeing the construction of amazing floors for businesses all over the Valparaiso-region.
As a Field Superintendent, Rob executes JLG’s commercial flooring jobs in Northwest Indiana to completion. He manages Jack Laurie Group’s field operations in the Region.
Before JLG, Rob was a PGA Golf Professional in charge of golf operations in the Region. Today, Rob utilizes those same organizational and management skills to help Jack Laurie Group see projects to completion. Rob lives in Schererville with his family and new puppy Millie. He loves to cook Italian food and is a grill master.
