At the Jack Laurie Group, we know the importance of keeping Indiana’s basketball courts top notch. We keep hope alive even in the face of adversity. When Heritage High School called us about water damage to their gym floor, it was a challenge that threatened to derail their upcoming tournaments, gym classes, school gatherings, and upcoming renovation plans!
As we assessed the damage to the floor, we realized that it had been 30 years since it was last installed, and the installation process had seen some upgrades since then. The Iron Bound system used was now obsolete. We knew that replacing the entire floor would be a costly solution and out of the question. So we got creative.
Fortunately, our team of flooring experts has over 45 years of experience, and replaced the outdated sub-floor with plywood. Then shaved down the thickness to match the original flooring. To our delight, the installation went more smoothly than we had anticipated. We then buffed, abraded, painted, stained, and put the finishing coat on top. Although there is a slight difference in appearance between the new and old wood, the court lines help to hide it as much as possible, so someone who is there for the sports won’t even notice it unless it is pointed out.
Sports are a vital way to bring people together, so it was essential to find a solution. We are proud of our team. At the Jack Laurie Group, we want you to have no fear and keep hope alive because we will win!
