Jack Laurie Group recently partnered with Snacks Crossing Elementary to upgrade their flooring with a fresh, resilient solution that would stand up to the demands of a busy school environment. The school needed flooring that would not only enhance the look of the space but also provide reliable durability. Our team set out to address these needs with a thorough approach, ensuring that the new installation would offer both functionality and style.

Step 1: Preparing the Foundation
To create a strong base, we began by removing the existing tiles and preparing the floor for the new installation. Our team worked carefully to ensure that the foundation was clean and ready for the next stage, removing any old glue and residue to give the new flooring a secure and lasting bond.
Step 2: Moisture Mitigation with Mapei Planiseal PMB
To address the high moisture levels in the floor, we used Planiseal PMB, a high-performance moisture mitigation product known for its effectiveness in protecting new installations from moisture-related issues. By applying two coats of it, we created a secure moisture barrier that safeguards the flooring and supports the longevity of the installation. This step was essential to ensure that the new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring would maintain its durability and appearance over time, even in a high-moisture environment.
Step 3: Installing Patcraft LVT with Mapei MS4 Adhesive
With the foundation secured, our team installed over 2,000 square feet of Patcraft luxury vinyl tile (LVT) in two complementary colors, adding a fresh, modern aesthetic to the space. Using Mapei’s MS4 adhesive, we applied a “wet set” technique for optimal adhesion, ensuring a smooth, lasting installation that combines durability with style. Patcraft LVT was an ideal choice for this environment, offering both resilience and a visually appealing design that enhances the look and feel of the school.
