At Jack Laurie Group, we take pride in every project, and our recent floor transformation at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union Hall, in Fort Wayne, was no exception. This job was especially significant because it involved matching an existing metallic epoxy floor that our Indianapolis Division had installed four years ago! The original floor set a high standard, and we were determined to meet and exceed it.
The Metallic Epoxy system we installed in the union hall’s office/conference room was a complex, four-layer process designed to achieve both beauty and durability. The chosen colors of the metallic flooring, Hammock and Papaya, provide a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for the space.
The transformative process began with the application of a Moisture Vapor Barrier Primer to ensure a stable foundation. This was followed by a Black Pigmented Basecoat, which laid the groundwork for the rich, deep tones of the metallic colors. Next came the Metallic Pigmented Basecoat, where the colors “Hammock” and “Papaya” were artfully blended to create a unique, flowing pattern that caught the eye. Finally, we applied a Urethane Topcoat, providing a protective finish that ensures this floor will remain beautiful for years to come.
