Jack Laurie Group had the privilege of working at the historic Muncie Civic Theater, a true gem in Muncie, Indiana, with over a century of stories, charisma, and architectural beauty. As a 100-year-old theater, this building holds incredible character, and we wanted to honor that legacy with flooring solutions that would enhance its timeless appeal while providing the durability needed for modern-day use.

Breathing New Life into a Historic Space
Our team replaced 430 yards of worn, outdated carpet with a beautiful Milliken custom broadloom, tailored specifically to complement the theater’s unique charm. The intricate pattern adds elegance, bringing both visual interest and sophistication to the space. To add a touch of exquisite detail, we incorporated a 3-inch solid color border throughout the theater aisles, balcony, and steps. This border creates a seamless finish that augments the theater’s unique layout.
Preserving Architectural Beauty
Working within such a storied building allowed us to focus on the architectural details that make the Muncie Civic Theater so captivating. The vintage moldings, ornate fixtures, and historical elements all inspired us to install a flooring that harmonizes with these classic features, adding luxury without overshadowing the theater’s original aura.
Enhancing the Audience Experience
The new flooring is designed to be more than visually appealing; it brings comfort and resilience to a facility that hosts countless guests and events. As audience members step into the theater, the updated carpet and detailed borders set a refined tone that heightens the overall experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the magic of live performance.
A Lasting Legacy
At Jack Laurie Group, we’re passionate about delivering flooring solutions that respect and enrich the essence of historical settings. Our work at Muncie Civic Theater exemplifies our commitment to combining visual nuance with functionality, leaving behind a refreshed, perennial space that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
